brains again, and also fanfic
Feb. 5th, 2018 11:08 pm- I think I’m depressed - not the sad kind, but the blunting of emotions and affect kind. It’s probably a combination of life events (grad school and upcoming travel and work and money and friends and feelings) and also it’s winter in Boston, and I don’t get a ton of daylight.
- It’s a relief to realize that, honestly, because it means I can take care of myself accordingly (instead of flailing about trying to figure out what’s broken this time). M is great about nagging me to take my meds and eat food, so I’m in good hands.
- I‘m working on the follow-up to the Will Byers Gets Nice Things fic, the thesis of which is “A family can be nine-maybe-ten teenagers and two four adults, and that’s okay”.
- there is fallout from Mike and Eleven and Will being not great at hiding their weird relationship triangle
- there is Steve being awkward at Jonathan and Nancy and having confusing feelings in that direction
- there are MANY sibling feelings. There are so many sibling and family relationships to parallel
- there is Joyce and Hopper coparenting and Joyce and Becky Ives trying to bond
- I also dove headfirst into Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency on the recommendation of a friend and both of my siblings. I’m waiting to finish the second season with said friend, because I need someone else to scream with me about all of the main characters. I find it likely that I will write fic for it at some point, but I need to finish the story before I decide where to go.
- It will probably be to the tune of Amanda-saves-the-universe because holy shit, I love Amanda so much and that prophecy was good for me
- I kind of ship Farah and Tina, a little bit. I think they’d be positive influences on each other. (I think Tina ships Farah and Tina, too, but I also get the impression that she ships herself with everyone)
- I love love love that the reaction of almost everyone who meets Farah is “wow she is so cool” followed by “wow she is so weird”.
- I am still poking at In the Bone Garden! It will be done this year, hopefully before Halloween. I don’t think that anyone cares aside from, uh, maybe my horror movie crew, but *I* care. I need it to exist outside of my head.
- I’ve rediscovered My Chemical Romance, as I do periodically, and (a) my vocal range lines up really nicely with their songs now! (b) Welcome to the Black Parade is still on another level, damn son
